CIED Advanced Poster Series – ISIS Devices: Improvised Plastic Fuze for VS-500

This new series of posters available utilizes the most up-to-date information on the IEDs and components used by ISIS.

Developed by R.C. Gravett, these designs include photography of the real devices as well as detailed hand-drawn sketches.

Each poster is printed on 18″ x 24″ heavy-duty laminated sheets.

“ISIS/ISIL continue to very clearly demonstrate their flexibility and improvisational competency in IED construction. They had thousands of VS-500 Improvised Landmines but no cocked-striker fuses to put in them. As previously stated, ISIS set about solving this problem by fitting external pressure plates to some mines and design, develop and manufacture some new plastic-bodied landmine fuzes using the existing stockpile of fuse components they had left over from the original construction of the VS-500 Improvised Landmines. This poster exploits the new plastic version of the cocked-striker mechanical fuze that ISIS manufactured.”
